Groundhog Day

Groundhog Day, 2011. It’s my first anniversary of living full-time as myself. One year ago I finally thumbed my nose at my shadow. It’s a day like any other, of course: grocery shopping, errands and other unremarkable things. It’s like a birthday when you’re an adult: there’s nothing special or…

Makeup Table

I was at Ikea the other day and came across this table which is designed as a laptop computer table but looks as if it would make a perfect makeup table.

It is called Vika Vein and if you search for this name you’ll see the item. Click on the picture for a closer look and you’ll see that the top opens up leaving space underneath. I think you could put a light mirror on the inside of the top, lay out all your cosmetcs on the bottom and place it on a table. Or, you can buy your own legs to go with it (Vika Moliden).

who would you like to be ?

July 2010 issue of Vanity Fair reports a poll done through CBS which included the question:

If you could live in a movie for one day, whose life would you want to live ?

The choice of eight included three females;

Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City

Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman’s character) in Casablanca

Lara Croft in Tomb raider.

4% of male respondents chose Carrie.

3% of male respondents chose Ilsa

1% of male respondents chose Lara.

Ann Garvald Blog –The Book That Changed My Life

If this was Readers Digest, a title like the one above would almost certainly suggest an article about The Bible. Well, that’s not the case here. Not that I have anything against The Bible, although I do wish that the born-again types who have hijacked the name “Christian” would pay more attention to Christ’s message of love and tolerance in the New Testament and less to a God of vengeance and retribution that they seem to think is the only message in the Old Testament.

March 27th – no event

Good morning everyone;

The executive has been struggling for someime with coming up with ideas for various events. Last month we cancelled an event and so it is for March 27th. It is not for lack of trying to come up with things to do but certainly there has been difficulties in finding new and interesting things for the members to do.

Esprit 2010 Scholarships & SO Program

On January 9th Stephanie and I attended an Esprit meeting in Seattle. Many topics of discussion but one that is important to note is that are plenty of scholarships available for attending Esprit 2010. Please go to the Scholarships information page on the Esprit site and have a read of the requirements. Perhaps this is one way you might be able to attend Esprit this year.

Something else to consider is bringing your partner (SO Programs) to Esprit. It is an opportunity for your partner to learn about the gender journey in a completely safe environment. Click here for information on the SO Program. Ask your partner if they would like to come to Esprit and be part of the program. There are scholarships available for couples. See the scholarship link above.

Thanks for reading and I hope you will give consideration to these two programs for Esprit 2010. If you have further questions please contact myself or info@cornbury.org
