Regulars at the monthly dinner meetings may have done a bit of a double-take when pulling into our favourite ABC Country Restaurant this month.
It’s not the ABC Country Restaurant any more. It’s now Fay’s Family Restaurant.
The unverified story goes that when ABC’s parent chain, Ricky’s Restaurant Group decided to amalgamate the ABC properties under the Ricky’s name, the owner of the Newton ABC decided he wanted to branch out on his own instead. Keeping the same menu and most of the staff, along with the familiar décor, he renamed the restaurant Fay’s.
The food’s the same, the welcome’s the same. Only the name has changed.
