Resource Directory and Geobrowser

There's a new toy to play with on the website! Under Site Navigation, click Resources. You'll see Resources, our familiar directory of businesses and resources. You'll also see Geobrowser, which is an interactive map with a list of clickable categories. Click to see where different types of business are located. Many are marked with cool little icons.

Please, if you spot any that are no longer in business, or know of any favourites that aren't showing up, email i...@cornbury.org. We'll update our directory accordingly.

Why not read about...

...the cool stuff our members create! Some of us are great cooks and have a number of awesome recipes in Lady Cornbury's Kitchen. Even though the entertainment season has wound down somewhat, there are lots of cool things to try here. Plus, if you haven't been there for a while there are several new additions.

A number of our members are also excellent writers. There's a lot of entertaining writing and some food for thought in Recommended Reading.

Email security

We all hate spam. We all hate finding that our email address has been harvested into some spammer's files, ready to be sold to anyone. Fortunately, there are ways to slow the harvesters down.

Catherine White Holman killed in plane crash

The recent crash of a float plane just off Saturna Island has claimed six lives, one of whom was a social worker well-known to the Vancouver GLBT community.

Catherine White Holman worked at the Three Bridges health clinic for many years and was one of the forces behind the creation of the Transgender Health Project.

She was often the first contact for people coming into Three Bridges. While I never knew her personally, I am sure I've seen the benefits of the work she has done.

Another person who will be greatly missed.

I read a newsfeed on this site today that saddened and angered me greatly.

New look (again)

Once again your fearless WebMistress has been herding pixels, wrangling bits of code and generally crawling around under the hood of the site. Here's a new look - let me know what you think.

Who IS the WeatherPixie, anyway?

weatherpixie.CYVR_.gif

You've all seen her - the girl on our home page who not only shows you what the weather's like but also sports appropriate attire. To be sure, sometimes her outfits are perhaps a tad impractical, but hey, then she fits right in with us, doesn't she?

She is the WeatherPixie, and sadly she has been nameless for many years. Please help us out and suggest a name for our young lady. Add a comment with your suggestions!

This News is Good News

Hey all:

New feature on the site - check out the News Feed section on the front page. it has constantly updated links to articles from several major sources that maybe of interest to the transgender community.

If you follow newsfeeds such as these and have any additions or changes to suggest, please make sure you forward them to i...@cornbury.org.
